Doom: The Dark Ages: Life Sigil Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
In Doom: The Dark Ages, Life Sigils are the Slayer's second chance — glowing green Doom Slayer helmets hidden across the campaign that function as extra lives, triggering an automatic revival prompt on the spot the moment the Slayer falls.
There are 46 Life Sigils spread across 18 of the 22 chapters, each one also counting toward its chapter's Secret Areas completion percentage.
Pinpointing them all is critical on higher difficulties — find every spawn point in MapMaster's Doom: The Dark Ages chapter maps before they're needed.
How Life Sigils Work
Life Sigils require no manual activation. When the Slayer dies with at least one in inventory, the game automatically prompts instant revival at the exact position of death — preserving arena progress, enemy states, and all items already collected.
The Life Sigil is consumed and cannot be recovered for that chapter session.
Carry limit: 3 Life Sigils maximum. Picking up a fourth when the stack is full does nothing — the Sigil stays on the ground. If all 3 are already held and a difficult arena lies ahead, note the location of any nearby Sigil and backtrack after losing one rather than leaving it out of reach.
Life Sigil pickup locations are marked on the AutoMap as a Helmet Icon when the Slayer is physically close. If the icon appears, collect immediately or note the position. Sigils do not respawn within the same chapter session once consumed.
Behaviour Differs by Difficulty
Standard difficulties (Aspiring Slayer through Nightmare) — automatic revival on the spot on death, consuming one Sigil.
Pandemonium — Life Sigils no longer trigger spot revival. Instead, they allow a chapter restart from the beginning on death rather than a full campaign reset. Each Sigil in inventory represents one chapter-restart safety net.
Ultra-Nightmare — Life Sigils function as Health and Armour refills only — equivalent to a soulsphere pickup. They provide zero protection against death. On Ultra-Nightmare, any death resets the entire campaign, including all upgrades, collectibles, and progress, regardless of how many Sigils are held.
Life Sigils Count as Secrets
Every Life Sigil is classified as a Secret Area collectible — collecting one increments the chapter's Secret counter visible in Chapter Select.
Players sweeping chapters for 100% Secret completion are tracking Life Sigils by default; both hunts are identical.
